You stand on the clifftop and there they are, Skellig Michael and Little Skellig, sitting twelve kilometres out in the Atlantic. Two dark shapes on the horizon that six hundred years of monks called home. How do you look at that and not feel something? This was a heavy, brooding afternoon. No sun, just scudding cloud pressing down over the ocean. The light
